Bringing fine guns to Argentina???
Hi everyone.

My wife wants to go to Argentina and I have generously agreed to her request.....
on the condition that we spend three or four days wingshootng. dancing

The plan is to hunt first and then spend 3 days in Buenos Aires. I have a nice SxS that I'd like to take down there, along with my trusty Benelli.

What happens with the guns for the three days that I'm in Buenos Aires. What about airline horror stories???

I can't bear the thought of losing that double. I ate peanut butter for lunch for a long time to swing that deal.( AyA #2 )

What do you think ???
Take it or leave it home?

Regards

Elmo

Secure the shotgun in the hotel....should be no problem from my limited experience. I'd take it. I have been through Buenos Aires a few times and have had no problems. In the past I have always secured my firearms permits from the consulate in the U.S. Still need in spection at the airport but it seems to speed things up a bit.

If you want a great bird hunt get in touch with Juan Pozzi and Alberto Foerster. They post on this site frequently. cigar

Hi Bill
I've heard about "somebody's brothers'uncles' sisters' 3rd ex-husband" having a gun disappear...You know how that goes.

So your guns would stay in a Hotel Safe. is that correct?

Already sent a pm to Juan and checked out the website.

As for myself, the only time I'm going to attack a pig with a knife, is at the dinner table Big Grin

We never have any problem or heard anything ,but things are not as easy as past years ,now you have to spend 30 minutesor more checking the guns but isnt a problem in Buenos Aires.Juan

Elmo. Mine did not go into a hotel safe. They stayed in the room. I woudl imagine they could be checked into a more secure setting at a good hotel. Juan is right about needing a bit of time at the airport, but I believe that having the paperwork done beforehand makes it easier.

Let me know what works out for you....
