Hymalayan Tahr in South America

I had heard that there are Tahr in Argentina now? What ranches?

You have some in the Patagonia and also some ibex. Neuquèn Province.

If they released them in the Andes mountains and allow them to reproduce it will be a fantastic destination some day for those who enjoy hunting in the mountains.

What a beautiful and wonderful animal. It would be such a joy for all of you in that area to have that opportunity to hunt them....

This photo was taken by a friend in the spring time.....this is where they live....

I took mine in New Zealand, mid winter, top of Mt Hutt on the south island, with daughter, Jessica in 2002.

He was taken on top of the mountain above Jessica's head....access by helicopter....dropped me off to make the stalk and kill, then came back to pick me up. Brought Jessica and I down to a lower ridge and then went back up to rope the Tahr and bring him out.

On another trip while Jess was living in Sydney we went to northern Queensland to hunt hogs....she is walking across a crocodile infested river to get a photo of us driving across

And we caught a piglet.....

Memories...that is what it is all about....
