SaeedTonight’s Gathering Have Asked For…
Traditional roast.
Both roast beef and roast chicken.
I will post pictures tomorrow!

Aspen Hill AdventuresSaeed, I see y'all eat a lot of rice. Do you get potatoes over there to put with your roasts?
~Ann
08 March 2023, 19:24
SaeedYes
Rice and potatoes are almost always served with a meal.
Many of our recipes are based on rice.

Use Enough GunDamn, I can't wait Saeed!

Glad that you are now actively participating in one of the best forums on AR!

We may need your recipes!

Between this post, and the Adventures Of The Clueless, we've hit the jackpot!

SaeedThis was last nights dinner.
Tortilla chips, refried beans, lots of jalapenos and melted cheddar cheese.
They absolutely love it.
They won't have anything else as starters.
Dinner was roast beef and roast chicken.
Dessert was vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit salad.
One prefers passion fruits.
Wish you were all here with us.

Norman ConquestThat all looks fantastic!

Aspen Hill AdventuresThat's a real nice spread!

TCLouisThat all looks so good.
What is the "bread" product?
Surely you just sample, or you could never maintain your weight.
Wait a minute off doing 5 - 10 things at any given time may burn off the calories.
Dinner must be the main meal of the day!
YES, I wish I were there too!

Thomas "Ty" BeahamYum!
By way of the cheesy jalapeño refritos casserole I think we may be related.

And, having seen you mention your preferences in how well-done your meat is, I have to imagine
that
just like my late Aunt, you chose the very end piece of the roast.

The produce looks fantastic as well! Where does it come from, is it grown locally?
.
10 March 2023, 06:24
SaeedThat picture show vanilla ice cream and passion fruit.
Yes, dinner is my main meal, and I do have a problem sitting down, so that might help.
I like my meat well done, I am human, not a bloody hyena like others!
The bread is the traditional English Yorkshire pudding. They have it with roast beef.
Vegetables are grown in our own backyard, but, every conceivable produce is available here in our markets.
The chickens are local and the meat is from New Zealand.
11 March 2023, 17:22
SaeedTonight’s guests have asked for a chicken biryani.
Our chef has different recipes, so I asked him to make PUNJABI BIRYANI.
I will post pictures.
12 March 2023, 09:14
SaeedA lot of our food culture is very similar to the Indian food.
And Indian food is very popular here too.
This was requested by an English friend.
Biryani and papadums, with chilies and Indian condiments.
Followed by berries and ice cream.
14 March 2023, 17:29
Bill/OregonIt all looks so wonderfully delicious, Saeed. What variety of peppers are those? I see them in many of your food photos.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

SaeedThese are a variety of green chilies.
We grow them at home.
Hot, but too hot.

That looks fantastic, Mr. Nice Guy!

Loving the pics and the posts!

Yes, you are right!
I can never understand this bloody foreign language we have to use!
Next time I will post in Arabic!
Apparently pepper steak on the menu tonight.
Wednesday used to be our MOVIE night.
Husbands run away from their wives for some peace and quiet, and have a decent meal.
Women are not invited, though we do get gate crashers sometimes!
We have real movie buffs.
They used to pick the movie we watch.
I had to put a stop to that.
When they picked the DEAD POOL I thought enough was enough!
I like real movies, not glorified cartoon characters.
Then someone suggested we play soccer on the TV using a game consol.
Got a Sony PlayStation 5.
They play in teams, and it was so funny we gave up on the movies, as non can match the local comedy show right here.
Last week someone suggested we get a VR headset to play VR games.
Today is trial day, and I cannot wait.
I asked those who know about these games, and sadly the reaction was not very encouraging.
The man in the shop said "I have not seen any games slow enough for your lot to understand!"

Norman ConquestHA! Damn, Saeed, you sound like an Englishman; no matter where you are, everyone else is a foreigner.

Thomas "Ty" BeahamThat looks great!
Makes me hope maybe in the future we'll have smell-o-vision or scratch-n-sniff screens.
.

Bill/OregonBeautiful spreads, Saeed. The kebabs look incredible. I also liked the three-seasonings-of-rice plate. Dried currants and saffron on the right?

SaeedYes.
This is an Iranian recipe for rice.
20 March 2023, 03:33
Use Enough GunThose pics are just simply out of this world!

20 March 2023, 03:44
Thomas "Ty" BeahamSaeed do you use wooden or stainless skewers?
.
20 March 2023, 09:43
SaeedWooden skewers.
We have a very famous Pakistani restaurant here, been here for many years.
We get meals from it quite often, as it has gathered a sort of a following.
Basically they make BBQ chicken, and very hot sauce and bread.
Years ago someone had T-shorts printed with I ATE AT RAVI'S AND I AM STILL ALIVE!.
I will post pictures next time we get it
21 March 2023, 00:17
mbogobutchSaeed, great looking plates, thanks for taking the time to post as I've wondered what your culture serves up. I think we would enjoy all of it.
22 March 2023, 19:25
SaeedArabic, Iranian and Indian food is very good.
What I call basic food.
I have no taste for the overbearing famous chef’s creations.
To me, they seem to try to over do each other on how horrible a dish they come up with.
Tonight we are having a Spanish and a Portuguese dish.
Will post pictures tomorrow.
22 March 2023, 20:51
carpetman1I like soy sauce on rice--do you have soy sauce over there?
23 March 2023, 13:22
SaeedYes.
We do use soy sauce quite a lot.
This was last night dinner.
Spanish rice with chickens, and Portuguese beef stew.
23 March 2023, 23:43
carpetman1Saeed I know you are a practical joker. Have you ever served pork chops at a Jewish wedding?
24 March 2023, 00:52
Use Enough GunDamn, Saeed, another fantastic post! You are murder on anyone considering a diet!

25 March 2023, 09:10
Norman ConquestCarpetman, along those lines, a few years ago there was an interview on NPR with a guy who owned a Kosher restaurant in NYC, + just as a joke, put on the menu, "Matzo Balls, deep-fried in bacon grease". He said that they really sold like hotcakes, + the funny part was that only the goyim were offended; the Jews knew it was a joke, + also many said it was good fare.

No you are not.
As you know, pigs are very close to us physically.
Chicken are not.
Well, to some they might be related.
Bine Spurs come to mind!
