Re: Trioxane
We always had trioxame available but a lot of guys insisted on cooking with C-4. Guess we still do the same kind of nonsense here in the real world, some folks wouldn't consider BBQing on a propane fire.

We couldn't get Trioxane, but I could order and get all of the C-4 we needed.
I think it burned to complete combustion much better than Trioxane tabs, and was sure a LOT hotter and did not stink near as bad.
Who ever said something about it up above in the thread . . . one can burn C-4 "quite safely" and Comp B or PetN also.

Military explosives are MUCH more forgiving that civilian.

RDX . . . That MAY be another story, but we will never see any of that so we can't even experiment!

One reason I didn't like to use C-4 was it made such a big bright fire while trioxane made a little blue flame. Always made me feel like a target.

The flame was controlled by the size of the piece of the
C4 and the fact that it was in cracker can stove.
We had fires ONLY during full daylight conditions and NEVER EVER slept where we were when it got dark. I always went out and scoped out a spot easy to get to and set up during daylight and weALWAYS MOVED after full darkness.
