Lowrider 49Braunschweiger Dip/spread
If anyone likes Braunschweiger dip, this is an old German family recipe:
16 ounces liver sausage
8 oz chunky blue cheese dressing
4 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
4 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon horseradish (or more)
3 tablespoons parsley, chopped
assorted crackers
Directions:
Combine the first 8 ingredients; pat into a bowl lined with plastic wrap. Cover with the wrap and chill for 4 hours.
Invert onto a serving platter, remove plastic wrap and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with your favorite crackers.
You can certainly make it hotter with a little hot sauce.

Hawkeye MountaineerHey Lowrider 49,
If you like Braunschweiger, you may also enjoy the movie "The Straight Story" with Richard Farnsworth and Sissy Spacek.
While some have criticized it as being a slow-moving 112 minutes, others have celebrated it's messages about the important things in life: relationships, integrity and the spirit to keep striving.
I may have to whip up a batch of this wonderful-sounding old German family recipe Braunschweiger dip--- and enjoy it with "The Straight Story" again! -Perhaps with a stein full of my favorite German beverage!
Thanks for sharing, Sir.
