Our Own Recipe Of Tortilla Chips, Refried Beans And Jalapenos
I first had this in Texas many years ago.

We also order it in some restaurants.

But, our own recipe seems to get great reception, and requested very often at our house.

We have soccer evenings, where some friends come over to watch soccer matches.

Sometimes we also have movie nights.

We have some sort of hot snack before the main course.

Things like different types of chicken wings, potato skins with fillings and cheese etc.

Our recipe of tortilla chips gets requested more often.

It is really is very simple.

Pick your favorite chips.
Cover them with refried beans - lots of beans.
Cover them with lots of jalapeños.
Grate cheddar cheese - plenty of it - on top and put in the oven to brown.

Funny part even people who normally do not like hot food, enjoy these with the jalapeños.

We normally do something similar, but without the refried beans.

I love refried beans, so this looks great. I'll be trying it, Saeed - thank you!

That does make for some great Hor'douvres AKA party favors. Also if you are working a dip in the crock pot using the velveeta I use the new Schirracha tomatoes + peppers over the old Ro=Tel.This makes a GREAT dip.BTW,I use local products. I Never use a Kraft product as they finance the anti gun folks.(unless they have changed their ways which I highly doubt.)

I do something similar Saeed, but put some kind of meat on it too. Usually leftover chopped up steak, chicken or venison.

Norm,
Don't forget I am a Texan by birth and by history, Big Foot Wallace was my kin. and my son lives all but next door to you..Ive eaten in every restaurant from El Paso to Greenville and Higgens Texas to Brownsville and more..The best Mexican food in Texas by far is in EL Paso, hands down no contest!! beer

Southwestern New Mexico is no slouch on this subject..

99% of my daily intake is from South of the border...

Ray,I did not know you were a native but no worries,we all know that this is the finest food around. I could not stand English fare, who are notorious for boiling everything, including their bread. Smiler
