Got home from the rifle range and my wife had on the TRAVEL channel and the show with Andrew Zimmern had some people from Puerto Rico cooking up coyote in the Bronx (N.Y.).
No I couldn't and didn't watch it. To each his own I guess !

I don't know if it is still open, but there was a big hoorah a couple of years back about a new restaurant in Bejing China whose main dish was rats, cooked various ways.

larrysSince I am an "eat what you kill" sort of person, I can say that it is like any other game meat in that if you take care of it properly, it is not bad at all. No, it doesn't taste like chicken.

larrysYup. My wife is from west Texas and she likes them just fine. Either tenderized or cut into cubes for the stew, they are fine. It can be a little tough if not cooked right. I wouldn't just throw it on the grill like a good deer backstrap.

Damn, not my choices for dinner entrees. I'll pass on both. Starvation will make people do things they never thought they'd do, but I'd have to be pretty hungry to tackle coyote steaks, I can tell you that.
I've always said that I'd eat anything anyone else would, just goes to show you I can be wrong.

KenscoIf it came to coyote, possum, skunk, raccoon, and a few other such, I would elect to start a diet I've been planning for many years. I could stand to drop twenty pounds or so. After that, given no other options, I would turn vegetarian. I would munch grass like a Clydesdale. Varmints will never pass my lips. I have very high standards. Feral hogs of course are an exception. If I could find big enough yellow thingies, I would eat those ugly bastards like corn on the cob.
