Colorado BobBT-99
I'm looking to get back into trap shooting. I sold my BT99 years ago, now I'm looking at another one. It has a single * on the locking lug on the barrel. If memory serves me correct that is a full choke. Is that right?

Scout Master 54Yes, one * is full choke. I have a listing / table of choke designations if you would like a copy, send me a PM.

Colorado BobThanks Scout. I thought one * was a full choke. The BT-99 is headed my way. No need to the list--I'm old school give me a full choke & I good from the 16 yard to the 27 yard. Seems like everything now is screw in chokes. Just more to mess with your head. Head down, see the bird, break the bird. I use the KISS method. Bob

stepchild 2Bob,
That's one of the finest trap guns ever.
I had one back in the day that was back bored,
long forcing cone and a custom choke that worked real well, got me into Trap&Field a couple times. Then I got into the got to have a Perazzi phase, The Perazzi name didn't improve my scores, I shot the BT much better,Lesson learned.
Back then I was shooting $12.50 a bag premium shot. Those were the days.

Colorado BobThe good old days---I remember $12.50 a bag.

SaeedI bought a BT 99 from a shop in Houston with a special discount. Because it had an extra tight choke!
I won a few trap trophies with it.
The best part is when it just smokes the targets. No pieces at all.
And if I remember it cost less than $200 in 1982.

And if you only knew some of the comments that the California trap shooters made about you back then, when you were beating them...

Could not possibly be worse than the comments my fellow Texans were making about me!

I think they were all pretty much along the same lines.
