with all of the controversy going on with lead
has anybody reloaded any steel dove loads?
any tips or suggestions?
i have a mec grabber
im currently using clays longshot and red dot

I load Alliant's 7/8 oz load .
Fed Gold Medal hull ,7/8 Steelshot , Fed. 209A primer , 42 gr of Steel powder , Reloading Specialties "SAM 1" 12 ga 2 3/4" wad 1,700 fps , 7,800 psi .

I load #7 shot
This load kicks but on doves and with #6 is a great Quail load .
I also use #3 for big ducks with this load .

Red dot is not suitable for steel shot .
There are a few loads with Long Shot , but most ( 90%+ ) loads use Steel powder from Alliant
