LawdogRemington 20 Ga. Target Hull Loads
I have a supple of Remington 20 GA. Hulls markiet Target some are marked Skeet. Non of my reloading manuals list this particular hull. Other than general description of injection molded, one piece, smooth brass etc.
Can these hulls be reloaded with recipes of AA hulls? It seems that is what I used to do with RXP hulls.
Can they bed loaded with recipes for RXP hulls?
Can anyone giove me info on what reloadiong manual might include these hulls?

LawdogSorry for all the typos, this may be a bit clearer.

johnchI would only be guessing
I would contact
Alliant and ask them
Best way to tell is to cut 1 of each in 1/2 , so you can see the base wad and sides

LE270I've found that, unlike 12 gauge Winchester and Remington hulls, 20 gauge Winchester and Remington hulls are NOT interchangeable.
That means that you need a 20 gauge Remington wad to get a good load in a 20 gauge Remington hull. You also need to adjust the last (crimping) stage of your loading machine differently to get a good crimp.
I also use Winchester primers in Winchester hulls, and Remington ones in Remington hulls, although this is less a critical difference than other variables.
If it were my problem, I would assume that the hulls you have can be loaded using the same data as if they were Remington STS or previous Remington hulls (i.e. RXP ones)--use the same specifications. Load them with 7/8 oz. of shot and with a powder charge that gives about 1200 f.p.s. or a bit less.

vapodogmaybe I shouldn't do this but I do.....I fill the case with water and pour that water into a known case.
If the water exactly fills the known case then you can reload the new case the same as the known case.....this applies to lower pressure target loads only!
In other words.....measure the volume of the case and compare to cases you reload!

thornellI am familiar with these hulls, and have loaded them quite a bit. I load them the same as a AA hull. They are a little bit shorter than a AA, but you can adjust your crimp down a bit. Hope this helps.
