Griff,

A Roll Crimp Spinner; insert into a hand drill or drill press and have at it - easy tool to use and has lots of applications, too especially for specialized shotgun loads, like well, slug loads & spreaders.

Have fun with this; see ya next week.

Gerry,
thanks for that!
I tried to login in to BPI but it wouldn't accept a non US address.
The spinner looks ideal!

Hi Griff, sorry to jump in on this thread but being as you're from Scotland, it occurred to me you might reload with Nobels 80 powder or know someone who did, I have a tin of it & would like a 1oz load for it, Winchester cases & wads, could go cheddite cases & wads too if thats all you could get. On the subject of roll crimping, I recently picked up a wee antique 12 gauge roll crimp tool, the sort with a wee crank handle to turn it & a lever to push the case against the crimper head (?). It clamps to a pice of board I lock up in my wood working vice. It crimps plastic cases ever so quick & easy. it might be worth keeping a look on Ebay for one, I'm sure they come up & for not too much too.

Shinzo,
The recommended charge for Nobel 80, 28g 12 ga, is 21.5gn [from the back of my tin - the only place it was published here!].

That would be with a compression-formed case and IMI/Eley wad, but it's OK with Winchester wads. I'm currently using this N80 up in skeet loads. Dirty burning compared to its predecessor, N60. But the fouling cleans up easily.

Another good forum for these inquiries is your local one, http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/forum

There are also a few Kiwis on the AHN forums, http://www.australianhunting.net

You need to sign up to be able to view these forums, but I recommend them.

Thanks for that Doug, I have a Mec bushing for 1 1/8 oz loads which drops about 20.4 grns from memory, I'll see if I can get one which does what you've suggested. I'll also try those other two forums, I'm on the local one but haven't used it for yonks so might need to re register, haven't tried the AH one but hell, whats another forum & pass word to remember.Big Grin
