few of us use it for trap.
it burns about the same speed as red-dot [grain for speed and pressure] and will leave some 'stuff' behind if your not running at tip top pressures.

the 'stuff' doesn't build up and seems to be consistent from shot to shot.
it meters pretty decent in progressive loaders too.
good nuff to break all sorts of clay targets though.

Ive been using it in 1oz/1250fps loads for years as a 16yd trap/first shot doubles load with 8's and as a skeet load with 9's with good consistency and patterning.

It burns a slight touch dirty, but really not problematic at all. Meters well in a MEC9000 with a powder baffle with little powder spillage at the charge bar.

1 1/8 oz Skeet loads? WOW! Those are HEAVY and would KICK!

After I couldn't get Clays I started using Titewad and 700X. I still have an unopened keg of Titewad, but the last two kegs that I used for Skeet loads was 700X.

Back when I was shooting registrated Skeet, my 12 ga average was .9625 and my 28 ga average was .9717 so now where I just shoot for fun I just load 3/4 oz 12 ga loads.

I break just as many targets, these shells don't kick as hard as 1 1/8 oz loads and I get 7 more boxes of shells from a 25# bag of shot than I would with 1 1/8 oz loads. Claybuster CB0175-12 3/4 oz wads.

I used a load from the Hodgdon data that was supposed to be 1150 fps with 1 oz. of shot. I could not see any difference in results of this load from the standard 1-1/8 oz. skeet load. 1 oz. of shot at 1150 fps also makes a very pleasant load. Works fine on small game also.

I’ve been using Win AA loads with 1-1/8 oz

My O/U is heavier so they don’t bother me at all

But if the reduction of 1/8 oz is undetectable

it really isn't.
I've been shooting an ounce of shot since the early 90's.
an ounce of number 8's has a higher pellet count than 9/8 oz. of 7-1/2's anyway.
so your not really giving up a whole lot until you start pushing the distance.

you will notice the recoil difference going down to an ounce or less unless you try pushing the speed up for some unnecessary reason.

I try for an ounce of shot at about 1175 fps for almost everything I shoot.
grouse, quail, chuckars, doves, trap, 5 stand, and even a pheasant and duck or two have been cleanly dropped with that same shell.

flippin cold.

I usually get a few days of trout fishing in this time of year, but the lakes are froze over already.

there's also a bunch of snow up in the mountains.
we were out trying to get the G-kids their Christmas tree for the last few days.
I finally dug the big 4 wheeler out of the shed and hooked the trailer up to it and hauled them up the lower road to slug creek.
a couple of hours [or what felt like it anyway]of snow shoeing with them on our shoulders and we finally found one they could agree on.

I was done for by the time we got back to the wheeler.
the kids of course wanted to play in the snow where I parked the truck.

I have used titewad for 3/4 oz 12 gauge loads for about as long as it's been available.

We shoot skeet at the gun club every Wednesday morning (the wife thinks I'm working) with this load and it's just perfect on skeet clays!

The only time I use 1 1/8 oz in a 12 ga is if there are pheasants to be killed.

Back when I was shooting Registered Trap, my 27 yard Handicap load was 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 shot.

One fall my son and his friend wanted to go pheasant hunting. When we got to the hunting area, the only 12 ga shells that I had were my 1 1/8 oz 7 1/2 handicap loads. OK, they'll work on pheasants so I hunted with them.

While going through some thick brush a little 2x2 or 3x3 muley buck jumped up, ran a few steps and fell down. When I got closer to him I saw that he had been recently rifle shot in one back leg. One shot of 7 1/2 pellets from the full choke top barrel of my O/U to his forehead from 15' filled my deer tag that year.

I've hear of that happening once before. Not by you but a buddy tells a story about being in a treestand waiting for a whitetail and observed a pheasant hunter coming his way... which would push the crafty buck right under my buddy. Well, the pheasant hunter jumped the buck and one shot rang out and the pheasant hunter filled his deer tag!!! (I don't have particulars on shot size or choke)
