johnchI thought about trying it .
But after some searching , I could find no sutable wads .
I have read and emailed some guys that tryed it , but they ended up with scratched chokes .
So I droped the idea and now load Bismuth in the 28

So how has the bismuth worked out for you? Is it worth pursuing? Is there an advantage over plain ole lead shot? Jim

johnchIt works fine for what I use it for .
I hunt some WRP and ODNR wild life areas that require Nontoxic for all hunting .
I use the 28 gau for some of my pheasant hunting .
I got the loading data from Balistic products
Email them and ask for load data for the HV28 and SG28II wads .
I also worked up a few loads on my own using lead data and a little comon sense.

NV GuideWe have been using a 323gr hevi shot load for the past 2 seasons. We have seen no measurable wear in the barrel or choke. We don't use any shot larger than # 5, however. I would think you could see some problems with the larger shot. I am currently waiting for test results on a 383gr load using the BPI HV-28 wad. This wad has a significantly larger capacity as well as much thicker petals. My reason for this post is to find out if maybe I'm covering ground that someone else already has,

Joe RichardsonFor what its worth, Hevi-shot will introduce a no-tox .28 ga. shell by next waterfowl season. I'm not sure if it will be hevi-shot or hevi-steel. It will probably cost an arm and a leg per box.
I'm assuming that once it hits the market, it won't be long before some safe reloading data is published.
BTW, I like that 323 load.....

NV GuideI noticed the TBD date on their website. I hope it really is Hevi and not some sort of steel.
If you like the 323 load you ought to shoot the 383 load.

Joe RichardsonAs soon as Wade lets "Bird Hunter" into his site, I'll give it a go. I like lurking at your data too.
