customboltNice find. Originals near the 70's are rare as hens teeth.

3584ELKThanks,fellas.
We took the car for a drive last night and discovered a bug with the turn signal stalk- probably a worn/cracked cam inside the column. More fun!

Is a 402 a big block, as in 396/427 family? I always thought it was the last expansion of the 283 small block.

Norman ConquestIn 1972 I bought a Marroon colored 1957 Ford Ranchero (built like a tank)if memory serves had the 390 motor w/hurst 3 on the floor. Ran like a striped ass ape. Why I ever sold it is akin to why I ever sold a lot of guns, just stupidity or necessity at the time. Wish I still had it.

With the .273 ring and pinion it will go fast on the freeway but not do a good burnout. Those would be replaced with a 3.90 or 4.10 if it was mine. Assuming it is not a daily driver and thus fuel economy is not an issue.

3584ELKUnderstood, Buckeye. Had it out on the highway yesterday and it was turning 2500 rpm at 60mph. Not exactly overdrive numbers, it has plenty of punch whenever I need it. Besides, my burnout days are behind me.
