HuviusBritish Hub Sizes??
Thought I would throw this out here and see if anybody happens to know.
Question is, are the splines for knock-off wire wheel hubs the same on MGTC wheels and Triumph Spitfire wheels?
I know Jags have bigger hub splines but not sure of the MG and Triumphs.

shakariI'd expect them to be different but try asking here:

terry buffumI think both MG and Triumph are #42hubs - the number has to do with the bearing size. Jags are 52.
I got a call from a neighbor boy one night whose MGA had lost a wheel - I took the spare out of my Ferrari Lusso (also #42) and he used it to get home.

HuviusThanks Terry.
A Lusso is not a bad car to own!
Too bad I didn't have the loot to get one when they were way under valued. Of course, you could get a nice PF Coupe for pretty reasonable 15yrs ago too...
I have come across a set of TC wires priced pretty reasonably and have had a crazy notion of building a Bugatti Type 32 replica out of my old Spitfire for a while. Seems like a good use of a junky Spit to me!

enfieldsparesHad a Triumph Vitesse 6 about thirty years ago with wire wheels. The splined hubs just bolted onto the standard hub.
So essentially the car had a 1" wider track. If I assume that these hubs were made by the same manufacturer I see no reason why not.
BUT BE AWARE that Standard-Triumph did not merge with the British Motor Corporation (MG, Austin, Morris) to form British Leyland until the 1970s.
As far as I can remember. So until then they were COMPETING organisations and not collaborating organisations.

That is a pretty cool idea.
