Idaho Sharpshootertoo slow...
My last sportbike was a Muzzy-fettled ZX12R
The reason I am looking Beemer is all the safety stuff for when I get in over my head.
Thanks for thinking of me.

Idaho Sharpshooterthe only time I have been truly afraid on a motorcycle was one evening late. I had a fine looking young lady on the back, and we were headed to my house after a dance. I got a bit of "hooligan" as we were going under the RR tracks in a hundred yard long underpass. The underpass was not lit. I popped the bike up on the back tire, and SHIT! it's dark at 1am with the headlight lighting up the ceiling! This lady squeezed me so hard I 'bout lost control of the bike.
She's screaming, squeezing the life out of me, and I can't tell if the front wheel is cocked a bit to the side or straight. You guys know what happens if the wheel comes down offcenter. Highside and slide down the asphalt until gravity stops you. The Lord gets us slowed down, the handlebars straighten themselves out (thank the Lord for steering dampers) and I get the bike set down so the headlight is showing me what's in front. I catch my breath, and this lovely young lady is screaming "That was Flipping Awesome, can we do that again??!!"
This was a Don Vesco turbo'ed Interceptor 1000 that had run over 203 mph at the Salt Flats that summer with their midget on it.
I did the only thing I could under the circumstances: we got married the next summer.
It's how I want to go, not after half a dozen surgeries in the VA Hospital, crippled up at 80.

Only a DG charge at close range beats the adrenaline rush a fast road bike gives you at 150+.

The SpecialistI didn't bother wasting much time on it after the dickhead nearly hit the blue car, before he even got going.
They put mirrors on 'em for a reason.
