drhall762White Bison .540
Does anyone out there have a White Bison in .540 or know what the barrel twist rate is? The best I can find on the web is 1 in 32" to 1 in 48" which makes no sense to me.
I have picked up one that used to be a .504 and has no barrel so I think it should become a .540. Already have a White in .504.

drhall762Okay, works for me. Now to track down someone who makes a .540 barrel blank.

DoublessDave, have you considered turning it into a 45 caliber? I just had DPCD put a 458 barrel on a Super 91 I bought a few years back that had a rotten barrel.
From what I have learned, Doc didn't re-invent the wheel with his barrels: his .410 was a .416 barrel, the .451 was a standard .458, and his .504s were .510s.
I have three different Whites in .451 and they are all tack drivers. I shoot the Lyman Volunteer bullet. It drops at about .451", and weighs somewhere around 450 grains. I pan lube it, size it to .450" so it slip fits, and it is amazingly accurate.
Just a thought...

drhall762I considered it but I have 3 already. Don't have a .54 in anything. Found a barrel so we shall see.

drhall762Thanks. I have the rifle, less barrel and now a barrel on the way. For the sake of argument, would you PM me with what you are asking for it and the condition?
