mcbSince you are apparently looking for a modern muzzleloader I recommend the T/C Encore, if it is legal where you live and the enclosed breech does not run afoul of your game regulations. Good hunting!

Triple_Se7enThese are all everyday factory production rifles... no customs. This is how I rate them. Other posters may not agree.
Inline
Wood versions of either the T/C Encore or Omega depending on whether or not you choose to buy aftermarket Encore barrels... followed by the Knight Disc Elite - then the Austin Halleck 420.
Sidelock
T/C Hawkens followed by the Uberti Santa Fe... then the Lyman Great Plains... afterwards the T/C Renegade Hunter, Cabelas or Dixie Hawkens & the Pedersoli Country Hunter.

The absolute best of any particular category of thing just does not exist, since every example is an individual. However, IF you need the VERY BEST ML, you will have to find a custom gunsmith (or three!!) to make you one.....
