treg50 cal saboted bullet velocity - light loads
Just got a 50 cal. NEF Huntsman to shoot saboted hard cast lswc for whitetails. With a 65 grain charge of pyrodex RS (ff=) under a 240 grain .429 bullet in a TC "mag" sabot it is very accurate. Anybody ever chronyed a load like this or know where to get velocity info?

jbI shot a nice buck a few years back with a 240 grain xtp and 80 grains of 2f blackpowder.IIRC it chronoed about 1300 fps out of my 21" barreled t/c white mountain carbine.I would guess your getting 1100-1200 fps.

tregThanks jb, thats about what I figured too. It's a sweetheart of a load but I'm gonna hunt for a load with a little more range.
