bowmantrajectory question
I have just finished sighting in (at least I tried to) my White 50 cal muzzleloader. Please comment on my results as I wonder if this is typical of muzzleloaders.
Load was 90 gr. Pyrodex select RS, behind a Hornady 240 gr. XTP sabot. I sighted in at 1 in. high at 50 yds, but when I went to 100 yds, the same load was 5 in. low. I increased the load to 100 gr. and gained two in. in elevation.
Is this typical?

Swede44magSounds like my Knight Predator trajectory. I shoot 25yrds 50yrds and 100yrds. I use a Paper Plate and stick a florescent orange 1.5 inch dot in the center. This leaves a little white all around my front sight at 100yrds. When my load will shoot just a little over at 25yrds on at 50yrds and a little low at 100yrds I figure it good enough for deer. I always shoot 5 shot groups for accuracy check. The hotter I go the flatter it shoots but after 80grs the accuracy suffers at least in my gun. BTW I use Knight or Hornady sabot and 44cal Hornady XTP bullets. They don't deform when using a ramrod like soft point bullets do. Just my 2 cents worth.
