triple 7, any one using this stuff ?, like it better than black powder ?

Some have had hard luck with t-7. some ahve good luck...

mine's been great...
90 gr of elephant gave me right UNDER 900fps

a certain charge of elephant gave me 1247fps with a 600gr warne maxi in my kodiak....

90 grains of triple7 gave me 1263 fps.. and we went from there.

90 grains of one flavor of Elephant gave you 900 and another 1240? What granulations etc. were you using?

Not that it really matters. Elephant is history, kaput, and gone. Swiss is much much better powder in every way, and that includes velocity.

Never tried 3-7. Never saw any reason to.

I like it, except for the cost it's clean burning and strong. I seem to get good accuracy out of the guns I've tried it in.

I got 5 pounds of Goex FFG, I like this stuff. using 65 grains for now on targets.

Because it shoots hotter than BP or Pyrodex you have to readjust your powder load. I've found the accuracy to be about as good as BP. It cleans up great. Ideal for Cap & Ball revolvers.
