Is there something that works better than T/C's Gorilla Grease on the breech plug using T777..? Mine keeps sticking and is a pain in the A$$ to get out!

Try some Slick50 ONE grease, about $4/tube at a Wallyworld. Works good for me.

Pink teflon tape in a single layer on the threads, with a dab of any good grease on the forward threads (over the tape) is almost surefire. A little harder going in but pretty reliable about coming out.

I've also taken to seating the plug to snug and leaving it there instead of backing off a bit as I had in the past.

Oh yeow, one more thing that many folks find helpful is to loosen the plug just a bit after about 5 or 6 shots then retighten. Haven't tried that one myself.

Be sure you clean that firing pin assembly on your Encore after extensive shooting. Blowback does make its way in there eventually and failure to clean will give ya problems.

A good anti seize compound works good too.

Any regular silver anti-seize found at atomobile stores will work. Just be sure not to tighten the plug too tight, just finger tight as some people torque it too far and that's where they have the problems.

teflon tape is the key!! use it with your typical grease, and your problems will go away

Put the grease or never seize both in the threads on the barrel and on the plug.

I use a product called "Super Lube" which contains Teflon. I use a generious amount rubed well into the threads of both the breach and the breach plug of my T/C Black Diamond. Never had any problems of being hard to remove for cleaning.

Silver anti-sieze from the auto parts store works for mine. Never had any trouble getting it out with Pyrodex or 777.

I would have to agree with UC and CC... I have used the Teflon tape with a smidge of grease on all the ML's I have owned and have never had a problem getting a plug out.

I use the yellow tape. It is a bit thicker than pink and is rated for gas lines, 1 layer with a bit of overlap only.
