Grizz 66EABCO
Does anybody have any experience with this companies single shot rifle the 97d. Thinking about ordering one, but haven't heard to much about them. Thanks in advance.

J.D.SteeleNo direct experience but apparently they are strong enough although butt-ugly. Me personally, I wouldn't have one if they paid me, they're entirely too ugly IMO. However they are apparently safe and accurate.

GrenadierWell there is no denying that they have a bit of a plain style all their own. But, to me, so do the Thompson rifles. There isn't much else offered in a strong light falling block for small bore cartridges. I think a 6lb 97D in 25-35 AI might prove fun.

Grizz 66I think their more plain than ugly also, but don't care long as their accurate. I'm looking into the 6.5brm for a chambering, not as nice as an old school cart for a falling block, but they have this chambering avalvable for quick shipping. Thanx again
If you decide to go with the 6.5 BRM I have dies and brass you can have cheap. I had one on a Ruger #3 action and gave up on it pretty quick. If you use anything approaching max loads the thin 30-30 brass is useless after 2 or 3 reloads. Just my experience with the round. You may have better luck. The 6.5 BRM is the worst mistake (gun related) mistake I ever made.

J.D.SteeleWhat's the 6.5 BRM? Pics? Dimensions?
Regards, Joe
The 6.5 BRM ("Bench Rest Magnum") is a 30-30 case necked to 6.5mm, shoulder moved way forward, and taper removed. It's basically a 219 Donaldson Wasp in 6.5 instead of .22. It IS a efficient and nice looking little cartridge and if the 30-30 case was not so weak it wold work fine.
I purchased one in 1999 in 375 win . I would say that the design is plain but ugly ? I can say that the workmanship is beautiful the action is as crisp as anything I have seen and the chamber is match quailty. They realy seem like a carbine due to the short action and lt wt.
Good Luck,
Skids

Grizz 66Well thanks for the replies, kinda got mixed emotions bout the rifle. So I decided to order a encore barrel in 6.5brm, this is kinda like a test run to see if the cartridge and manufacture are as good as they say. Hopefully they are and I can move on to the original idea.
Thanks again and Jon I might get in touch with ya, but we'll see
