I guess there isn't - now the question is why spend the $$ on a Dakota vs the Ruger? Looks going to the Ruger IMHO.

DPhillipsThere is. The Ruger has a hammer, the No.10 has a striker. The Dakota, by all technical accounts, should have less vibrations set up during firing, and a faster lock time. How these play out in the real world probably vary enough from gun to gun that it would be hard to see without a large enough population to sample.
The Dakota is a more trim action for the smaller chamberings, too. The Ruger action is the same from the 218 Bee to the 458. I think there are a few different sizes of the Dakota.
Overall the Dakota will be a little more sveldt and the fit and finish is much better than on the Ruger. Is it worth the extra $4000 it takes to get these improvements? Only you can make that judgement with your money.
