Falling Block Identification Help
Can anybody help ID this rifle for me. The rifle appears to be a .22 center fire of some sort but their are no barrel markings. The only visible marking is on the underside of the receiver (shown in the pics). Supposedly it was in a guys closet since at least the '60s.

Thanks in advance

Looks like a Winchester High Wall modified to a varmint rifle when that was very common.

Don't they call that Varmintized ? Roll Eyes
The high wall was chambered in a very large number of cartridges, take a chamber cast ,don't guess.

I would if I had it. A buddy was trying to get some guns appraised for a widow. Hopefully I will get to buy her collection. We'll see.

Looking at the gun and scope I'm betting it will be:
22 Hornet
218 Bee
22-3000
22 R Lovell

IF you are LUCKY it will be 219 Donaldson Wasp!

I wouldn't bet on anything without a chamber cast being done.

Interesting rifle but without a chamber case, who knows,

My guess is a Hornet or a Bee. That's not much of a scope.
