how about a ruger #1 in 5.6x50Rmag
i was just thinking about a thing that happened years ago. Gopher shooters supply (now gone) was a very large wholesaler and just happened to be my neighbor. Anyway bonnanza sports (co-ax press etc. now owned by forester)was making a bunch of dies for the european market. Clarence purdie (the originator or gopher & bonnanza) was looking at the 5.6x50Rmag and thinking what a nice round it would be for the #1 - He figured he could talk tom ruger into it if he could just show him one. so he made up a nice looking hiwall into one. Clarence took tom ruger out to the range with the thing and showned him just how nice it performed. Tom was impressed, but then turned around and asked clarence - thats nice, but who's going to buy it, you can't get ammo for it in this country. Clarence got this vague look on his face and says _ gee i never thought of that. I ended up buying that rifle some time after clarences death. Then I sold it in a fit of whatever it is when you do something stupid like that, but it was a net round for a #1.

one other neat round would be for me a nr 1 in 240 H&H ,thats a classic deer/roedeer round that would be wonderfull, not just sfter them but also after antilopes.

yea and high pressures aswell it has, a better choice would be the 5,6x57r , that uses 224 bullets, 228 that the 5,6x61 has
