I have one in 25/06. Great rifle. Say, who did the stock work. It is one of the most beautiful stocks I have ever seen.

I like that quarter-rib and express sights... Who did them for u? How much does something like that run? Beautiful No1 you've got there!

I've got an M77/MkII in .375 with that quarter rib and express sights and like it alot. The sights are amazingly accurate on my .375 H&H.

The Ruger No1 is one of my all-time favorite rifles, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's strength, beauty and simplicity are simply wonderful. Most are accurate and some are extremely accurate especially if you tinker with that fore-end pressure and the barrel hanger a bit. It's not difficult and many times will bring out sub-MOA performance with a No 1. It's arguably the strongest action ever made and very reliable. Mine's a 1976 vintage .458 Win and wears a 2x7 Burris compact scope. I would take it against any animal with confidence.

I have a machinist friend who made the rib as well as did the other work (stock, barrel band, rust blue, etc.), don't know what it would cost for just the rib. One of the drawbacks to this particular rib is you can't mount a scope. I'd contact Michael Ullman (www.frontiergunsmithing.com), he makes beautiful ribs.
