Idaho SharpshooterWoo-Hoo...
Roger Green has my action and barrel, and expects to have my 450-400 NItro Express 3 1/4" metal work done before he heads to Africa June 28th.
Dave Crossno got my wood, and expects to have it completed and ready to ship back in two weeks.
I might be shooting the rifle by end of August...

www.steveeraleproducts.com. There, that is better...
It is an exact replica of the 1871 Frank Wesson #1 Long Range action.
I'll have pictures up soon.

Idaho SharpshooterMy wood came back this afternoon.
It looked pretty good. Then, I wiped a damp rag across the butt stock, and it just popped! Wow!

Bill/OregonRich, sounds like we have a stunner on the way ...

There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

RichardAustinInteresting action, I've never seen one before. How'd you find this?
Looks loads of fun, nice project.

TommyIII used to own a William Evans double in 450-400 3/14. It was a great rifle. While suffering from an advanced case of utter stupidity I sold it! I sure wish I had it back. That is on classy cartridge!

Idaho SharpshooterRichardAustin,
On the ASSRA (American Single Shot Rifle Assn) website.
A guy was talking about building one.
www.steveearleproducts.com.
It is an exact 100% part interchangability action.
They are not cheap, about $1500 and a six month wait. Steve will take payments and slot you on the line with a small deposit. By time my name came up, I had it paid for.
He is now offering a Fraser as well.
I cannot imagine a better, more stylish action to build any rimmed cartridge on.

Big Wonderful WyomingThanks for posting that, I want one of those Dan Frasier actions post haste!

N E 450 No2ISS
Just curious. Why the 400 3 1/4 instead of the 400 3 inch.
What bullet diameter is you barrel for, .408, .410, or .411.
Let me add that one of my most favorite rifles is a British double rifle in 450/400 3 1/4" Nitro Express Magnum.
My double uses .408 diameter bullets.
I really like the cartridge, something about that impossibly long skinny neck...
