BwanaBobRe-chamber Chiappa Sharps .45/70 to .45/110?
I have been offered a Chiappa Sharps in .45/70 but am really looking for a .45/110. At the same time, I have access to a .45/110 reamer.
Can a .45/70 be rechambered to .45/110 without any nasty little surprises coming up in the conversion? Anyone have any comments?
Thanks,

SR4759Do you know anything about the 45-110 reamer you propose to use or is just any old reamer ok?
I ask the question because if you bother to rechamber you might think about using a reamer optimized to make the rifle as accurate as possible.

I am not exactly sure of the brand or configuration, of the reamer, but I do know that it has only been used for one (1) chambering job and that the rifle (a Ruger No1) shoots extremely well). I'll have to inquire of the owner of the reamer and see what else he can say about it - thanks for the comment.
