conchoRead at

tnekkccI recently got an 1885 Uberti, that is not in the Cimarron line.
It seems Uberti makes them and Cimmarron sells them, but Cimarron does not sell all that Uberti makes.
I got a 30-30 high wall.

velodogoooooooops maybe you misunderstood me,on the winchester website the NEW 1885 winchester comes in wsm short magnums 270,7mm,300, but i wanted a 7mm rem mag ,as i had one before but was a idiot and sold it, so am determined to get another .The win website only lists as far as i can tell ''SHORT magnums '' why you would need one in a single shot is beyond me,since single shots arent restricted by length of an action ,any way i hope i can get one as i think they are better and slicker ,action than a NO 1

meteIn a single shot the shorts don't offer anything better than the standards. Are they still made in Japan by Miroku like my Browning 1885 ?

velodogDont know where they are being made at the moment, the Browning i had was made in Japan and i couldnt fault the quality of it ,only thing i didnt like on it was the tacky gold trigger

vigillinusVelodog you will have to look for an older Browning 1885 7mm Mag, I think you said you owned one, they had I think 28" octagon barrels, lotsa velocity there. Action I believe is identical to current Winchester 1885 which are only made now for idiotic SSM calibres.

A 120 year old design... might be a good candidate for traditional calibers... just a marketing suggestion.

meteThe Winchester [USRAC] website now has is taking a poll asking what cartridges would you like the 1885 chambered in !!!

Bad Ass WallaceHas to be a marketing opportunity there, a lot of decicated BPCR shooters buy a new Uberti and have it fitted with a Badger or Green Mountain barrel in a traditional calibre - 40/70SS is popular.
