I've admired the Luxus Model 11 since it first came out, plus I just like nice single shot rifles. I've bought a number of blanks from Clay over the last few years, and have always appreciated doing business with him and the crew there at Luxus.

I ordered a .270 awhile back and it showed up a couple weeks ago. I had it at the range this morning and wanted to show the results. With the 26 inch barrel, it really brings out the best in my favorite cartridge.

Not only is it attractive, trim and stylish, the workmanship is outstanding, wood to metal is precise, function is flawless, and it SHOOTS!!....This was at 100 yards, off the bench and bags in the photo.

Hope my 280 shoots that well!

Really nice!! Love it! I haven't shot my 270 yet. Can't wait! Really glad to see you using the 110gr TSX. I've used it a lot in 6.8SPC.

I'm struggling with caliber selection for my 2nd M11. I currently have a .243 with a 260 Rem in the making. Maybe something small, like 22H?
Thoughts?

22 hornet or 223. I have a Luxus Ruger in the Hornet and my Model 11 is 223. Sometimes it's nice to just buy good inexpensive ammo off the shelf.

I wish I could get Adam to do me a 218 bee in the M11 but they are doing hornets...So I broke down and did a hornet... That M11 is just so thin and trim it fits small calibers.

You guys are making a lot of sense.

The hornet would make a really good walk about rifle... but then, so would the 223.

Generally, people get something like a .22 Hornet because it makes a very light .22 center-fire rifle. But I would guess that the Hornet Luxus is going to weigh about the same as a .243 or .270 Luxus. That's about 6-1/2 lbs, right? It could even weigh a bit more if they use the same barrel contour and external dimensions.

If Luxus is using a fast twist barrel for the .22 calibers then I would get a .223. If Luxus uses a slow twist barrel for .22 calibers, my alternate choice would be the .22-250. It seems odd, doesn't it? But, because of the move toward heavier bullets for use in military rifles, some wonderful heavy-for-caliber ammunition is available for the .223. No such move toward heavy bullets seems to have occurred for the .22-250.

A fast twist .223 single shot firing 75gr match bullets would really be nice.

Adam, can you tell us what rate of twist you are using for the .223 barrel?

I love that rifle and hunt with a single shot. But we hunt in some of the most miserable conditions in the northwest. I'd hate to subject such a nice looking rifle to these conditions. Still, I'm leaning towards ordering one.

We use standard twists, and in .223 I think...think it is 1 in 14, or 1 in 12.

Joe, that is what wax and oil is for! Really, if you wax and oil the wood it takes on a finish and patina that cannot be duplicated by any other means than to wax oil and carry the gun. the wood begins to glow and becomes more beautiful.
