sdeshazoWhat Sights On a 10 ga Shotgun
I just got a New England H&R - Single Shot 10 ga shotgun & will be using the gun 80% of the time for Turkey, the other 10% just blasting things with the big 10 ga. My question is do I want to put a red dot, hologram, scope, etc?? Anyone have the gun & what type do you recommend?

hikerbum80% + 10 %,,,, what about the other 10-%?
just kidding. If mostly for these purposes, a red dot would work nicely

sdeshazoSorry about that, the other 10% would be coyotes, bobcats, etc. I'm really thinking between the red dot & a holgram. Decisions, Decisions...
Has anyone ever put a screw in rifled choke in one of these rigs?? it seems it would make a fun slug gun/rifle

sdeshazoMine came with a super full turkey choke & the only other choke they make I also bought it's a Mod for Steel shot.
I put a Simmons red dot on mine years ago and it's worked very well for me.

Nice rig, is it painted or taped? I am about to do the same to an NEF 12 gauge that I ordered a tactical stock for. I am also going to buy the next NEF/HR10 ga I come across as a long range turkey gun. I just like single shots.

ACRecurveI have a Tristar SxS 12 gauge 3.5" for my turkey gun. I had rifle sights put on it...using the red fire sight on the front. Works great. The other cool thing is that it will put 2 ounce and a quarter slugs within 2.5" of each other at 50 yards using the cylinder choke tubes. Kinda reminds me of shooting a double rifle.

It's tape over tape over tape.

Every couple years I add another layer when the last one gets ratty.
