new single shot on the Nuremberg IWA show
Most interesting product on the current IWA shot show: A new, nice single shot from Haenel-Merkel, price about 1/3 less than a Blaser K95. Nice finish, direct trigger, hand-cocking device.

Amazingly it went unadvertised, the big hype was their new straight-pull repeating rifle Helix.

Haenel single shot.

Looks interesting. Were you able to see a caliber selection?

This is what the web page says:

Kaliber: .270 Win; .30-06; .308 Win; .300 WinMag; .30R Blaser; 6,5x57R; 6,5x65R; 7x57R; 7x65R; 7MM RemMag; 8x57IRS; 9,3x74R

Hopefully the rifle will allow for interchangeable barrels.

...is this a conventional break-open action?...or a (licensed) jaeger tilted block action?...

Looks like the normal list of suspects on the caliber end. I would hope it will have interchangeable barrels.

No Jäger type action, just the regular locking style. I guess that a tilt block would drive production costs towards the K95 or K1 range.

Does that mean it doesn't feature switch barrel capability?

Sorry but it looks like a dolled up NewEngland Arms rifle to me.

Looks more like a K1 or a K95 to me than a NEF..
The photo in the link is pretty crappy however..
Since it is offered in the 7mm Rem mag. and the .300mm Win. mag. it must be able to handle high pressure cartridges with out a problem..

Duk,
Do you have any idea when they will be available for sale?..

Ha srtax...
You caught my post before I could edit it.. Smiler
But like I said having both the NEF and a K95 this new Haenel singleshot is a lot closer to the K95 to my eye..

It is already in the Haenel brochure, so far I have not yet read anything regarding start of sales in our media here.

Haenel Jäger.
