Fixed power scope for my No.1 .220 swift
I'm wanting to put a different scope on my varmit model No.1 and I'm leaning toward a fixed power scope, but just not sure what would be the best. Cant spend a lots of money, 250 or so. What do you folks think would be a good choice? Its currently got an old fixed 10 power Bushnell but was thinking of something more in the 16 power range. Thanks for any info.

Don't think you will find anything 12-16X in that price range, but MidSouth has their Bushnell Elite 3200 in 10X with mil-dot reticle on sale for $182.00

Newer, better than your old one, same magnification you're used to, and if you can't do it with the mil dots youare really too far, even for the 220 Swift.

Tasco made (may still) a 24x in the World Class series. I put one on a 220 Swift and it works exceptionaly well when you have adequate time to frame the shot. But its too high for quick acquisition.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I would check out a Weaver KT15. Use it on my prairie dog rifle and it is excellent for the money.

KT15 would be a good one.

I have owned about ALL M8 fixed and Fx, 2.5, 4x, 6x, 7.5, 8x, 10x, 12x, and 24x.

My fav for what you are doing....a 12x had target knobs and a CPC reticle, tapered to a fine center. I never had a want for more using it, 223 heavy bbl. A 10x left me wanting a tad more resolution at times, but the 12x was perfect and fine aiming with CPC was NEVER a problem, as far as I wanted to shoot varmints.

Bushy 10x is good, but not a 12x Leupy, lacks AO which I believe is nice on 10, needed on 12 and up.
