I have a Hi-Wall, that's been restocked and rebarreled to 2R-Lovell cal. The only markings besides a serial no. are E.F. Spicer 2R-Lovell Pittsfield, Mass on the barrel. This rifle was purchased in 1962, and I'm pretty sure Mr. Spicer is no longer with us, but I'm interested in some history on the gentleman. Was he an all-around gunsmith, configuring the whole rifle, or is he just the barrel maker? Any assistance/info would be appreciated.
