#1 for lefties
Was reading a thread below about receiver recontouring and subj. came up @ LH shooters and quick reloading. One LH poster stated he shot from bench, mostly, so no problem. How about off-hand shooting? Am a lefty, lookin' to get first #1 for hunting. Is it something that should cause me to reconsider? Anyone here with some enlightenment? Thanks.
PS: I really want one (a #1)!

458RugerNo1As best I can tell the #1 seems to be about as ambidextrous as you'll find any rifle.

The No1 has a lower right hand side wall which would prefer right hand shooters but in practice I have had no problem for quick reloads ,the only true ambidextrous rifle is the Browning 1885. I am a Lefty and use a Ruger No1 in .405Win and can reload just as quick as the Browning 1885

ChopperGuyI'm a lefty and have been shooting No 1s for a long time.
458 is right, you won't find a non-dedicated left hand gun that is more ambidextrous than the No 1.
The flanged cartridges do tend to help in reloading, but I imagine that is the same for shooters not of their right mind.

Good Luck
