cal pappasRolling block question
Fellas:
I have a New York contract rolling block Remington (1872?) in near new conditon and a perfect bore. It's kind of a boring rifle and the .50-70 cartridge is rather anemic so I am looking to do something with it. Tell me, can the chamber be lengthened to shoot a .50-90 or even a .50-140 3 1/4"? I know the new cartridge needs to have the same rim diameter and rim thickness to avoid additional work. I will shoot the same 450-grain bullet of .515" diameter. If it can be rechambered, can you recommend someone to do the job?
As always, thank you in advance.
Cal
