Which is generally more accurate: Merkel K-1 or Blaser K-95? I'm thinking in terms of rounds such as 7x57R, 7x65R, or 308 Win.

The only one of the bunch I have shot is my Blaser K 95 Stutzen.
So far with 7 different factory loads and 1 reload, with bullets from 150 grains to 180 grains, shooting prone off of my hunting pack I have never shot a 3 shot group larger than one inch. I cannot believe it myself.
This K 95 is one of the most consistantly accurate hunting rifles I have ever shot. I have seen groups from a friends 243 Stutzen that were well below 1".
I have not had any extraction problems with the rimless 308.
In the calibres youi have listed, for an American I would recommend the 308.
Much easier to find ammo, cases etc.
I really like my Stutzen.
So far I have taken a turkey, a wild pig, and a black bear with it.

ColoradoMattThanks for the info. John Barsness has an article on the 308 in the latest handloader. He has a Merkel K-1 that he used for testing, along with a Win 88 and Sako 75. Given the price of both of the teutonic rifles, they better be accurate!

butchloci don't have any experience with the merkel, but i do have a K95 w/2 barrels 222 & 06 both shoot consistently under 3/4". switching back & forth doesn't chanage impact. etc. really quite suprising from such a lightweight.

ChopperGuyBoth are very accurate. I have shot a Merkel and now own (through a recent purchase) a K95 Stutzen in .308 Win.
Took it to the range the other day and shot it with the only ammo I had available. Some really old Federal cheapo loads.
When I could feel my trigger finger (from the cold) - It put 3 shots into a quarter sized group. With the coming of MUCH warmer days, I'll be back at the range and I'm sure I can do better with better ammunition.
I'm adding a .223 and 9.3 barrel to my rifle which are already on order. My partner's K95 also shows no loss of zero when changing barrels on his rifle. A nice thing about the K95.
