Michael RobinsonGibbs-Farquharson Put To Good Use
I thought that fellow single shot rifle aficionados might like seeing this.
ARGENTINA 2010 HUNT REPORTI enjoy hunting with my 130-year-old-actioned Gibbs.
Mr. mrlexma:
Grand stuff! Thanks for the link. What beautiful country that is. And great pictures.
Best regards,
Glenn

Michael RobinsonThanks, Glenn.
I have also used this .275 to kill a royal stag in Scotland, although that experience was disappointing in the details.
As I have said, the Scotch is as good in Argentina, and yet the stag hunting is far better.

I would love to give it a go in Argentina with one of my single shot rifles. I took my H&H falling block to New Zealand to hunt free range Stags there and was unable to close the deal using that gun. I had to take my stag with my scoped Mauser due to the long distance of the shot. Congratulations is indeed in order.

Michael RobinsonSteve, my Gibbs has a 6x Zeiss on top in claw mounts, just for the long shots.
Of course, the mounting arrangements had to be rather a compromise.
But that is always the case in a single shot.
I would love to know the details and see a photo of your Holland and Holland.

Michael RobinsonVery cool rifle, Steve.

Thanks for posting the photos.
That .375 sounds like a winner as well.
