TCLouisSingle Shot 357 Mag/Max
Doesn't anyone make a single shot 357 Mag anymore?
I have a friend that is looking for a youth gun for her YOUNG son to deer hunt.
Looks like a 308 and Blue Dot reduced loads will have to do it for him.

Not sure if she wants to lay out this much cash for one but
I picked up a new Uberti 357 Mag Baby Rolling Block with a 22 inch barrel(24" available) and it shoots quite well at 100 yds. They usually run around $375.00 or sometines a little more. Quality is very good on these rolling blocks. It is just the right size for a smaller stature person and the single shot aspect is usually a plus towards safety. But for around that price I would probably just get a G2 or an Encore where he can get different barrels as he grows and gets more experience. Check some of the gun auction houses for an H&R, some of those were in 357 Mag.

wrongtargetH&R has made it in .357 Mag and .357 Maxi, .357 Mag barrels are available right now from em if you can pic up a frame to have one fitted. They made a run of 100 barrels earlier this year, and still have some.

Yeah, and it should be dead simple to deepen a .357 Mag chamber a bit in an H&R...then you could shoot all of .38 Short Colt, .38 Long Colt, .38 Special, .357 Mag, or .357 Maxi in it at your preference.
Might lose a tiny hair of accuracy shooting the shortest rounds in that deepened chamber, but probably not anything you could validly & reliably document with under 20 or so groups of each.

wrongtargetThe .357 Mag barrel chamber/throats are long enough to shoot DW360 ammo in em. I've got one that's been hand reamed to .357 maxi, shoots the DW 357 maxi 158gr & 170gr factory ammo into less than 1½" at 100yds.
