drhall762Ruger No.1 in .416 Rigby
Don't know if anyone here is in the market for one but I ran across one for sale over on Cast Boolits. Don't know if $1K is a good price or not with dies, brass, bullets, etc. If you happen to live in East Tennessee you can get a FTF rate.
http://castboolits.gunloads.co...30-1434-22-Hornet-FSPretty high if you ask me. I sold mine a few years back with a box of ammo and had to fight for 850. Good looking out though!

poprivitWell, I'm going squirrel hunting in a few weeks, so I bought it. Thanks for the heads up.
I feel that the 350-grain load ought to be adequate for ground squirrel - what say the rest of you?

drhall762Saw this morning that you had PM'd him. Glad I could help a couple of folks.
Now on the issue of squirrels, I am not sure. It may be enough. I can get by here with some hot loads in my .45-70 bolt gun and I think you can launch a little hotter than that with that .416 Rigby so it may work.
Keep us posted on the stew pot.

Bill/OregonPop, try 50 grains of XMP5744 and the RCBS 350 GC cast bullet. Gave me right around 2,000 and just over an inch at 100 when I had one of these rifles.

poprivitShooting sticks? They'd have to be pretty close to the ground, I think.
Thanks for the load data.
