Tim50TCR Rifle info
I can find very little on these rifles. Does anyone have/shoot one of these. What do you think of them? The one I am looking at is an '83. Any info pro or con would be greatly appreciated.

ElaltoI have both the '83 and the '87, the 83 is the bestlooking of the two. If you call Thompson they will send you an owner's manual BUT it tells you next to nothing. I am looking for an exploded diagram or info on dis-assembly but have found nothing.
I have found the TCR to be pretty accurate, easy to carry, fits me well, has high "fondle factor", I would buy another one or two if available. I am looking for a 243 barrel for mine if anyone knows of one.

Single*ShotT/C Rifle modles are multiple. They have been around a long time and they do stand up to their warranties. I own one of their Encore Rifle frames and have multiple barrels for it. I decided I needed the challenge of a single shot rifle for deer hunting in Maine. Having multiple shots made me lazy in my shot selection. It was probally my bow hunting that inspired this trend. I went to the largest gun dealership in my area and started lifting the single shot rifles, even if the T/C look a bit off they feel great. I do think it is the interchangability of the barrels that helped sell me. Throw one action in your gun case and four barrels and you are set for any circumstance.
Hope that helps.

<eldeguello>I had one, with a .30/06, a .243 Win., and a .22/250 barrel. I sold it because TC stopped making barrels for it, and I wanted more, like a .32/40 and a .270 Win.! The '06 had "hunting accuracy"; the .243 had no accuracy at all, and the .22/250 shot as it should-sub-MOA groups. I liked the weight, balance, and shape of this rifle, but I understand the reason why TC didn't bring it back after their fire was because the design was just not strong enough for the Magnum chamberings, (safe, but never accurate enough) with high-pressure loads. I don't know if this is true or not, but it certrainly is a much nicer gun than thoes Encores, etc. Their DST is excellent, but their "two-hands required" safety setup is nuts. I super-glued mine to where you only needed one hand to push the safety off, but it should have had a tang safety, rather than a crossbolt type.
