Ossi_IcelandRe: Baikal single shot
I have handled these at home (Iceland) and can tell you they are a good buy.Yes they are take down and can take a skope allthough the open sights are pretty decent.I would say that theyr qality is far better than the H&R rifles wich is easy.
How ever when I arrived here to the States I bought an Remington Baikal shotgun (same action) and it seems to me that after the remington name was put on it qality went down.I actually had to return the first one because the front bead was at about 2 o clock so I have handled two of them remingtons.Maybe remington isnt as strick on quality control?
I dont know

Paul5388They should be take downs since they are available with different barrels.
I looked at a shotgun yesterday and was thoroughly unimpressed. People talk about "pallet wood" on the Handi rifles, but they are really fine wood compared to the Baikal. The action was very stiff, needing a lot of pressure squeezing on the lever to open it.

ConAvailable in Australia are a .223, .308 and 30/06. Spoken with one shooter that bought one in 30/06 and he was impressed with the accuracy once the trigger pull of around 10lb was sorted out.
Cheers...

s3v3ntyn1n3Well, it sure doesn't say so, but every single-shot gun I have played with breaks down if you can get the forend off, probably just need a screwdriver.
I've been interested in one of these in 7.62x39.
