fla3006Ruger #1 Parts Gun
I put this 375 together with parts from GunBroker & Ebay. Rifle was originally a 1-S 300 Win Mag with Kepplinger trigger. I prefer the shape of the pistol grips on the earlier versions, also the British style checkering, but decided to replace the barrel and forend with a 375H&H and a shortened & slimmed 1-B forend with custom checkering. Also reshaped the ramps on the front sight and quarter rib. Balances & points very nicely in this configuration:

Bill/OregonFLA: That's a very lovely package. You have a good eye for the details. The slimmed forend is very attractive, as is the front sight.

bobcIs forend tip ebony or horn? I have a 7x57 that previous owner sanded and took crisp lines off the henry style tip. I'm thinking about doing a horn tip. Who did the stock work? bob

fla3006Bob, I removed the Henry forearm, cut a 1-B short, added ebony tip, tapered the length, had it checkered with a simple wrap around pattern. The buttstock is factory original, early-style grip & checkering. It's easy, I'll help you with one if you'd like, or bring it to DSC.

bobcCool, you did a nice job. I have a nice piece of horn I've thought about using. Lets talk when you get back. Traveling on business, not getting to DSC. Bob
