Blaser K95 stock job: Who can do it???
Gentlemen:

I just purchased a Blaser K95 single shot. I am not too happy with the wood. The Blaser has a latching mechanism in the forestock, otherwise, the design and engineering of the two pieces of furniture [fore and butt stock] look pretty simple. Can anyone recommend a first rate stocksmith who could carve me some new handles for this rifle?

Thanks,

know just what you mean. I have one and got sick of looking at the poor stock & finally built one myself. I'd talk to Jim Kobe (he posts on gunsmithing forum) He'll one of the best I know of. In any case it isn't to hard a job. about 90% of the inletting can be done on a mill

Butch:

Thanks for the encouragement. Unfortunately, if it requires any woodworking talent at all, I'd screw it up. The wood on my stock is nice, but it just doesn't comport with my image of a hunting rifle. It is too fancy, for want of a better description. I want something that is classy and yet with a grain and figure that lets it be known that it is still a "hunting rifle" and not just a show piece. Also, I don't like the skip line checkering.
