Bad Ass WallaceBet 'Mortie' never got a kangaroo, 500 termites and a second kangaroo with one shot! One morning I was fixing to get some dog meat and I lined up the small critter and let a 550gn pill loose. Down went the 'roo, the stump behind erupted with dust, wood & termites going every way and when I checked the first kill, I found the second 'roo 10yds beyond the stump stone dead.
On another occasion, I shot a rabbit at about 120yds, man he did 4 or 5 backward somersaults. He was headshot, with the bullet entering UNDER the chin. Seems I misjudged the range and the bullet had bounced off a rock in front of him.
There are several .45 cartridges to distinguish. The .458 RCBS is 2.75" long and the .45 HDS Basic is 3.245". Be alert when you order brass from your supplier.
Also remember that brass generally shrinks a little on the first firing.
