Idaho SharpshooterWickliffe action, what to do...
I have one of the new Wickliffe actions that has been setting on my desk nearly a year now. What to do? It will take a .600NE round easily with its large barrel threads, so it is a matter of just picking out a suitable caliber and getting my gunsmith going on it.
Perhaps a .50-3 1/4", or a .470 NE? It just has to be something in a hammer caliber.

N E 450 No2Why not a 450 3 1/4" Nitro Express?
Now that Hornady is making brass and loaded ammo.... And .458 bullets can be had fairly cheaply...

Idaho Sharpshooterrichj,
got a clone (rebarreled and stocked M71) 30" barreled full octagon, full length magazine in 50-110.
I considered the 45-120 (3.25") case simply because I could get brass and dies (much) cheaper and more widely available.

nordrsetaFor a big bore that is not an elephant gun how about a English-style light sporter in .577 Snider?
