cjfosterCool!
I've never owned a No. 1, been considering it for some time.
Any idea of the price?

FjoldI've left them a message asking for availability and price.
I also said "Hurry up and take my money!"

JeffreyPhDYes, please pass along the info. I'm curious as to why the weight is spec'd at 6 pounds. That's at least a pound lighter than the 1A model. I wonder if it's a slimmer barrel taper.

JeffreyPhDThe word from the Yahoo Ruger No. 1 discussion group is that this was a typo in the Talo catalog.

Knowing how a No. 1 works, I was wondering how they made a 22 rimfire work in that action. Are you saying that the 22 RF is a fails dream?

Maybe a failed dream as far as getting one from Ruger. But who knows; maybe someday. People have done them on a custom basis, so it can be done.

Mark ClarkWhere I work,
http://www.dvhcustomguns.com , before I got there they made a Number 1 in 22lr. I have only seen a picture, looks like a No. 1, not sure how it was done but boss said he would do another.

Dutch44It's certainly possible to make a No. 1 in .22lr. I have a Zischang Borchardt in .22lr made with eccentric bore to match my .32-40.

surefire7So, what's the difference in the catalogue of the two different 22lr models?

meteFLZ made a fine falling block 22lr back in the
1930s .I don't need a #1 !

eddiel4I have a rather interesting one but not a Ruger. Some of you may remember it from our old "shotgun news" days. It's a tiny 4 1/2 pound drop block 22 that's marked on the 23" barrel: Dan'l Fraser Black Isle Scotland but was manufactured for them by Armi in Italy. The rifle has a case-hardened receiver, half round half octagon barrel with open sights, the rear of which has one standing and two folding leafs. The stock is pleasantly plain straight grained dark English walnut with hand checkering and a cheekpiece. I bought it because it's so darn cute being so small and have never shot it. If someone who knows how to post pictures would contact me, I'll email them so you can all see this tiny one.

Dick WrightThere's an ACGG member, Steve Durren, here in Michigan who is very good at converting No. 1's to .22LR. I was going to have him do one for me but I have arthritis in my hands now and can't do stock work. I have been told that Steve is the best No. 1 man in the country.

max(hm2)I remember when that little fraser was being imported and sold. not only was it available in 22 rf it was also in 22 hornet. I sold a bunch of them. never had any problems with the rimfire version but it seemed that every other one in the hornet was a bit long on headspace.

Mark ClarkI bought a Dan'l Fraser last year at Cabela's for $89. It is rough but has a good look. It has serious extraction problems, if I can get that solved I will replace the wood and reblue.
