Re: Encore Loads for Whitetail
My current .308 load is a Speer 165 grain over IMR4064 powder. It chronographs just shy of 2700 in my 18 inch carbine and is on the warmish side. This is more than needed for deer but is very accurate in my rifle. I've also done a ton of 150 grain loads. Varget and IMR3031 worked well with these bullets. .308 is an easy one to load and get decent results with many bullets and powders.

Anyone have a good whitetail load for my new 24inch encore?

Thanks. I can't believe I did that. It's a 308win.

What is it?

Is it a 209X45?

Is it a 209X50?

Is it a Shotgun?

Is it a Smokeless Rifle?

Give us something to go on!

Whatever 150 to 180 grain softnose your Encore likes will do fine. As a rule - with a variety of rifles and cartridges - the Remington Corelokt is a reliable performer, accurate, reasonably priced, and easy to find should resupply in the field be needed. If money is no object try 180 grain Federal Premium Nosler Partitions. Good hunting!
