Remington Spartan rifles ?
Has anyone tried one of these rifles ? How were they for accuracy and overall function etc. Are they still available ?

Friend of mine up in Maine is a dealer, and he got two or three of the Spartan singles in his shop. All were 223 Remington caliber. Sold all three almost immediately, and they came back with complaints. Remington took them back saying that there were some "production" problems.

I had one on order, but after his report, I cancelled my order for it, and picked up a Handi Rifle in 223 w/ Bull barrel. It shoots really sweet and my only complaints with it are the ejector and the creep in the trigger. I'm going to run another 100 rounds or so through it to see if it will smooth itself out, and if that doesn't happen I'll drop the trigger and stone it smooth. Probably cut down the ejector spring also.

John,

You can convert the ejector to an extractor real easy! Trigger work is a snap too....well, almost!!!

I saw these rifles at the Shot Show in Vegas.
I don't think they are worth waiting for.
But I could be wrong.

With an H&R Handi at least you have factory support. From what I hear they are doing a good job at fixing anything that goes wrong and or replace, quite fast too.

Who needs a Rusky made gun?
